Beginner Inkle Weaving

Nobody needs an inkle band—until suddenly you do.
A broken shoelace, a tea towel loop, a drawstring bag, a key fob, a luggage tag... once you know how to weave inkle bands, you'll want to use them for everything! They're quick to weave, strong, multi-purpose and just plain fun.
This classis designed for complete beginners. We'll cover everything from getting to know your loom to warping, weaving, and finishing your first band. Along the way we'll talk about tension, neat edges, fixing common mistakes, and the little tips and tricks that make weaving easier.
If you've taken one of my rigid heddle classes then you know my style. We'll take things one step at a time, talk about why things work (not just how), and make sure you leave understanding the process—not just following instructions.
You'll also receive access to the class videos for 30 days after the workshop. That gives you the opportunity to review the warping process, revisit techniques, and refresh your memory as you continue weaving at home.
For this class we'll keep the materials simple by using leftover sock yarn for the warp and 8/2 or 8/4 cotton for the weft. You'll leave with a beautiful band, a solid understanding of the basics, and plenty of ideas for what to weave next.
