This is a lovely set of towels for the cottage d or home. The deep blue, green and turquoise with a hint of white remind me of hot sunny days at my grandparents’ cottage.
The first towel uses all 4 colours in the weft which creates a lovely braided look to the selvedges. The second towel uses just white for the weft. As a set, the darker towel is perfect for a hand towel (it hides the dirt!) while the white towel works for dishes. But don’t be constrained by my colour choices, create your own to match your home décor.
This pattern calls for 2/8 cotton but would be lovely with 2/8 cotolin as well.
These towels are plain weave. If you want a simple set of towels, suitable for a beginner, use a single colour for the weft. For a more challenging towel, weave with the 4 colours of weft.
