Christmas Mints Tea Towels - Zoom Class December 5
📅 Date: Saturday, December 5, 2026
⏰ Time: 2:00–5:00 p.m. Halifax time (AST)
💻 Where: Zoom
💰 Cost: $80 CAD — pattern included
🎥 Recording: Access for 30 days following the class
👥 Class size: Maximum 8 students; minimum 3 students required for the class to run.
Let’s weave together
You don’t need a class to weave these towels. The Christmas Mints pattern is designed to guide you through the project on your own, with detailed instructions and videos.
But perhaps you enjoy the company of other weavers, a chance to ask questions as you go, or a little extra help when something doesn’t quite make sense. That’s what this class is for. Bring your warped loom, settle in, and spend a few hours weaving Christmas Mints together. There will be time to look closely at our work, share questions, and enjoy the community around our looms.
What we’ll explore
We’ll focus on two pick-up sticks, string heddles, and reading your weaving. We’ll look at what each pick creates in the cloth, so when you return to your loom you can recognize where you left off and work out which pick comes next. We’ll also practise using string heddles as an alternative to reinserting one of the pick-up sticks.
Come warped and ready to weave
You should be comfortable warping your rigid heddle loom and weaving plain weave. Please arrive with your loom warped for Christmas Mints and ready to weave, so we can spend our three hours exploring the pattern together. Your pattern and preparation instructions are included with registration.
The project uses 8/2 cotton and a 10-dent reed on a 24-inch rigid heddle loom, with a pattern adjustment for a 20-inch loom. Have two pick-up sticks available, plus a heddle rod and 20 string heddles if you would like to try that option, and your usual weaving tools.
Pattern and recording included
Registration includes the Christmas Mints PDF pattern and 30 days of access to the Zoom class recording. If you can’t attend live, you can still register and receive both the pattern and recording.
Choose your date
This is one complete three-hour class. The same class is also offered on Thursday, December 3, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. Halifax time. Choose whichever date suits you.
If an afternoon of weaving, questions, and good company sounds lovely, you’re welcome to join us.
