Let’s start with the injury. Exercise isn’t over-rated, it’s really important and you should do it! Just don’t over-do it. Like everything I do, I just jumped in (literally) and injured tendons in both feet skipping. It was quite painful to walk so warping my loom was a challenge. I took it as a sign to really pay attention and learn how to warp indirectly. If you follow me on Instagram, you will see I warped rather uniquely but it was smooth and relatively pain-free. Stay tuned, I’m going to persevere with this and will have a blog, videos and a class to teach this.

Next up is my pattern update! This is The Perfect Scarf, named such because I love this scarf! It travels well (just stick it in your bag), it’s light but warm, it’s elegant yet casual, and it’s suitable for all genders.

There is nothing “wrong” with the original pattern, this one is just better because I’ve written about 30 patterns since writing the original Perfect Scarf. So if you have the original, you have a good pattern, you don’t need to update. This pattern combines plain weave and waffle weave in an easy way using 2 pick-up sticks. Finally, I got an order this week for a baby blanket. I designed this blanket for the customer’s baby a few years ago, based on one her daughter had. Now she’s getting a niece and wants to gift her a blanket too. I find that my 48” loom is a little big to keep set up all the time, so it has been in storage for a bit. This weekend it is coming out to weave a baby blanket. This blanket is made with cotton slub and it is soooo soft and completely washable! If you need a blanket project and you have a 48” loom, check out this pattern. If you like the pattern but have no baby to weave for, it makes a great table cloth using 8/2 cotton.
